When are the cultural heritage celebrations this year?

This list of cultural and diversity celebrations will help guide you through the many diversity events throughout the year.

The spotlight continues to shine on diversity, equity & inclusion efforts throughout the United States, Canada and beyond.    For 2022, we have put together an even more comprehensive list of multicultural & diversity celebrations for the United States as well as Canada.

In a country as diverse as the United States, there are numerous holidays and celebrations that represent that diversity.  While some are more somber remembrances of sacrifice or tragedy,  others celebrate achievements, and still others focus on a person, religion or heritage.   From month long celebrations such as Black History Month (February), Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15 -October 15), National American Indian Heritage Month (November) and Asian Pacific American Heritage Month (May) to more specific observances such as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s Birthday (January 21) and Independence Day (July 4).  And yet others may go by various names as well as have changing dates based on other factors such as the Moon.  The prime example of this is Lunar New Year  which is also known as Chinese New Year  or the Spring Festival.   2022  will be the year of the Tiger for the Chinese Zodiac and the celebration will start  on Tuesday, February 1, 2022.
