2025 Multicultural & Diversity Celebration Dates
Each year in the United States there are numerous festivals celebrating diversity and the contributions of multicultural populations on the culture of the United States as well as in other countries. While there are celebrations of all sizes, here is our list of key 2025 diversity and multicultural event dates to keep on your radar.
From Black History Month to Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, there are a number of days throughout the year dedicated to honoring diversity in America. Each celebration is an opportunity for us to learn about different cultures and gain a better understanding of our multicultural heritage.
Through involvement and recognition of these contributions, we can show our commitment to promoting inclusion and respect for all people regardless of their race, ethnicity, gender identity or sexual orientation. We can also use these dates as a reminder to celebrate our differences and work towards creating an inclusive society that celebrates diversity in all its forms.

January 20: DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING JR.’S BIRTHDAY The birthday of civil rights activist Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is celebrated on the third Monday in January.

March 1: Start of RAMADAN – Sacred month in Islam
- March 21: International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination
- March 14: Holi – A Hindu festival celebrating the arrival of spring and the triumph of good over evil
- March 29: EID-AL-FITR is the “Festival of Breaking the Fast” and is celebrated by Muslims worldwide marking the end of Ramadan.

March 31: CESAR CHAVEZ DAY honors the Mexican American farm worker and celebrates the contributions of labor leader and activist Cesar Chavez.

- April 13: Vaisakhi is an important festival in the Sikh and Hindu calendars celebrating the harvest season and the Sikh New Year
- April 20: Easter – significant Christian holiday celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ

April 25-27: Native American GATHERING OF NATIONS where over 500 tribes gather for three days to honor their culture

May: (month): ASIAN PACIFIC AMERICAN HERITAGE MONTH recognizes the contributions and culture of Asians and Pacific Islanders in the United States.

May: (month): JEWISH AMERICAN HERITAGE MONTH honors the contributions of American Jews

May: (month): HAITIAN HERITAGE MONTH is observed in May as an expansion of The Haitian Flag Day (May 18th). Haitian Heritage Month is a celebration in the United States of Haitian heritage and culture. It was first celebrated in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1998.

May 21: WORLD DAY FOR CULTURAL DIVERSITY is a day that recognizes cultural diversity as a source of innovation, exchange and creativity.

June: (month): NATIONAL IMMIGRANT HERITAGE MONTH is a month to honor the contributions of immigrants to our great Nation and celebrate their profound impact.
- June 18: JUNETEENTH: Commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States

June 20: WORLD REFUGEE DAY raises awareness about the plight of refugees .

September 17: CONSTITUTION DAY AND CITIZENSHIP DAY commemorating the ratification of the United States Constitution in 1787 and also honors all who have become U.S. citizens.
